Endowment Fund
Since 1962
the mission of the Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library has been the promotion of the
Thousand Oaks Library and its services
to the community, the sponsorship of special programs and activities, and the
encouragement of monetary gifts and book donations. It is in keeping with
this spirit that the Friends established an Endowment Fund in April
1995, with an initial contribution of $15,000.
The purpose of the Endowment Fund is to supply funds in perpetuity for the purchase of items for the libraries. All monies deposited in the Fund are kept intact. Only the interest generated, year after year, is used to make such purchases.
By contributing to the Fund, you give a gift to the community over and over again. Surely, there can be no more rewarding gift to yourself than knowing you are enhancing the knowledge of others for years to come.
The Endowment Fund is administered by the Executive Board of the Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library, in accordance with the organization's bylaws. Once a year the interest earned on the Fund is gifted to the Thousand Oaks Library. Professional library staff members select and order the books and other items to be purchased with these funds.
How to Make Fund Contributions
All gifts to the Endowment Fund are fully tax deductible. Checks should be made payable to the Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library and designated for the Endowment Fund.
