Donating Used Books and Other Materials

The Thousand Oaks Library welcomes the donation of used books, CDs, books on tape, videos and DVDs.  Items that are not needed for the Library collection are donated by the Library to the Friends of the Thousand Oaks Library for resale.  The proceeds from the Daily and Community book sales are used for the purchase of new materials, equipment, cultural programs and special projects for the benefit of the patrons of the Thousand Oaks Library.

Donations may be taken to either of the following locations:

Grant R. Brimhall Library

Thousand Oaks

(M-Th 10 am-9 pm, F 10 am-6 pm, Sat. 10 am-5 pm, Sun. 1-5 pm.)

Newbury Park Branch Library
2331 Borchard Road
Newbury Park

(M-W 10 am-9 pm, Th. 10 am-6 pm, F 10 am-6 pm, and Sat. 10 am-5 pm.)

Book carts are available for the use of donors who have boxes of used materials to bring into the building.  Please check at the Circulation desk for assistance.  Please do not leave donated materials outside the buildings.

Please telephone the library in advance when making a very large or unusually valuable donation.
